International Perfection Plus Varnishes with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, Perfection Plus Varnish offers the ultimate, full gloss varnish performance. Its improved formulation even contains UV filters to create the longest possible lifespan and is ideal for oily woods after the right preparation.

Preparation
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
- In Good Condition: Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 320- 400 grade (grit) paper.
- In Poor Condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate.
BARE WOOD: Sand smooth with 120 grade paper, followed by 240 and finally 320 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. If wiping with solvent then allow to dry completely before applying the first coat. Prime, if required, with Clear Wood Sealer Fast Dry. If Clear Wood Sealer has been omitted thin the first coat by 20-25% with Thinner No.9.
OILY WOODS e.g. Teak Must be adequately degreased (Thinners No.9 is recommended) and prepared prior to application of Perfection Plus Varnish. Ensure the surface is completely dry before applying the first coat. Sand areas that are loose or flaking with 320 grade (grit) paper. Method It is recommended that sanding residue is removed prior to over coating. The use of tack rags and a reputable Wipe Down Solvent can help achieve the required level of cleanliness.

BARE WOOD: Thin the first coat by 25% using recommended thinner. Then apply a minimum of 4 full coats. Alternatively apply a minimum of 4 coats of Clear Wood Sealer (first coat thinned by 25%). Then apply a minimum 2 coats of Perfection Plus Varnish.
Hints

Mixing: Stir individual products prior to mixing. Mix the base and curing agents of Perfection Plus Varnish together at the specified mix ratio. Add curing agent to the base, stir and leave for 10 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse. Avoid using direct from the can. Mix the amount you expect to use in a separate container.
Note: Any initial cloudiness will disappear upon thorough mixing. - Thinner: YTA006 Thinners No.9
- Thinning: Mix base and curing agent first and then thin as required. Thin first coat 20-25% when applied direct to bare wood. Thin other coats as required.
- Cleaner: YTA006 Thinners No.9
- Conventional Spray: Do not spray. Roller Use foam rollers. For best results when applying by roller, smooth off with a pad or brush.
- Other: When applying Perfection Plus Varnish by brush or roller, it may be necessary to apply multiple coats to achieve the total specified system dry film thickness.
