Northern Diver's Scorpion II helmet is ideal for extreme white-water use, as well as swiftwater rescue and many other outdoor activities, requiring additional head protection.
This helmet has also been specifically designed and manufactured to conform to the EN1385:2012 (Helmets for Canoeing and White-Water) standard of safety.
Our Scorpion II helmet will therefore offer the user maximum protection, in the event of an impact, defined by the International Standards for helmet safety. In addition, the additional foam inserts cover the users ears, for further protection and improved helmet stability.
The outer shell of this helmet is manufactured from high-impact ABS plastic and has been designed to follow the natural curves of the head, improving rigidity and increasing the protection of the forehead and cranium base. The inner materials of this safety helmet have also been specifically designed to absorb the energy of an impact and with the addition of the foam side padding, individual adaptation and increased personal comfort can also be achieved. Also featuring high quality nylon webbing, a Fastex quick-release buckle and heavy-duty chin strap anchor rivets, to improve performance and ensure long term product satisfaction.
For a 'Hands Free' lighting option, Northern Diver's popular Mini-Quest Underwater Torch is depth tested to 95 metres and has a powerful spot beam of 230 lumens, using the Philips 'Lumileds' 3w Luxeon LED. Powered by 4 x standard AA batteries (included) and has a total 'continuous' burn time of 8.5 hours, using unique Smart-Output technology.
Two of our Mini-Quest torches can be attached (one to either side of this helmet), using the MSA Gallet style side-mount quick connectors. This provides torch angle adjustment through 45 degrees and the user with a totally hands free lighting system. The focal length also has some adjustment by moving the torches forwards or backwards, within the MSA Gallet style sidemount connectors.
